Freedom for people of Telangana is few days away: Uttam

Huzurnagar, December 1: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that just 11 days were left for the people of Telangana to get freedom from the dictatorial and anarchic rule of KCR family. He said people would vote in favour of People’s Front comprising of Congress, TDP, TJS and CPI on December 7 and four days later, they would breathe again in a democracy.

Addressing a series of road shows and corner meetings in his Huzurnagar Assembly constituency on Saturday, Uttam Kumar Reddy said Telangana slipped into the slavery of KCR family immediately its formation on June 2, 2014. He said caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao came to power with a bunch of fake promises and bundle of lies. He used cheating and deception as tools to stay in power. KCR misused his oratory skills to push people of Telangana into a world of illusions just like the Pied Piper of Hamelin. He enforced Goebbels propaganda to rule the State like a Hitler. No voice of dissent or protest was tolerated and all modes of agitation were suspended. Democratic institutions were finished and even the freedom of media was curtailed. All this will come to an end on December 11 if people make the right choice of electing Praja Kutami candidates on December 7, he said.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said unlike TRS, the People’s Front would ensure a truly people’s government. “The Chief Minister and all ministers will run the administration only from the Secretariat and they will be always be accessible to people. RTI Act will be fully implemented. Common people will have complete access to all the GOs issued by the government on a real time basis. Lok Ayukta will be established and Chief Minister, all ministers and other officials will be brought under its purview. A ‘People’s Grievances Cell’, headed by a senior IAS officer, will be established in the Chief Minister’s Office. Freedom of Press will be ensured and fully protected. By strengthening Human Rights Commission, an administration that abides by the Constitution will be guaranteed,” he assured.

The TPCC Chief said that crop loans up to Rs. 2 Lakh would be waived off in a single take. “Interest burden on Long Term loans availed by farmers from cooperative sector will be borne by the State Government. Market Intervention Fund of Rs. 5,000 Crore will be set up. Crop Investment support for farmers will be enhanced from Rs. 4,000 to Rs. 5,000 per acre under ‘Rythulu, Kaulu Rythulu and Rythu Coolie Pathakam’. Minimum Guaranteed Prices will be given for 17 major crops. A separate Agriculture Budget, which was first introduced by the previous Congress regime under erstwhile AP, will be resumed. Ex-gratia will be given to the families of farmers who committed suicide after formation of Telangana,” he assured.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the government would provide 2 lakh jobs, including one lakh in private sector, in the first year of formation of government. He said Unemployment Allowances of Rs. 3,000 per month will be given to jobless youth. A Mega DSC, as per old system, will be held to recruit 20,000 Teachers and a separate DSC would be held for Urdu Teachers. He said 20% of State’s budget will be allocated for education to pursue Mission 100% Literacy. Fee Reimbursement Scheme will be extended to all eligible students and it will be paid every year in two instalments.

The TPCC Chief held TRS Government responsible for the Telangana Network Hospitals Association (TANHA) withholding all the services of Arogyasri, EHS and JHS including I.P. services from Friday midnight. He said KCR Government paid thousands of crores to contractors. But it had no money to clear outstanding dues of Rs. 1200 crore to TANHA for Arogyasri services. Accusing KCR of putting the lives of thousands of poor patients at risk, Uttam Kumar Reddy promised that the People’s Front Government would implement the Aarogyasri in a holistic manner to ensure free treatment up to Rs 5 Lakh for all diseases. Further, he said a 20-30 bedded hospital would be constructed in each mandal. In each district, a NIMS-level Super Speciality Hospital and medical college would be established and a100-bedded hospital will be constructed in each Assembly segment. “Aarogyasri Scheme will be reviewed and it will be made more useful for the poor and deserving persons,” he promised.

Uttam Kumar Reddy appealed the people of Telangana to take the right decision of voting for People’s Front in order to protect the future of their children. “KCR has pushed all citizens of Telangana in huge debts. He will make everyone’s life more miserable if he retains power. TRS victory will be a threat to democracy and freedom of people. Therefore, it is a historic necessity that Congress-led People’s Front comes to power in next elections,” he said.
